Online Instructor

Biography

My background as an online instructor started when I was 13 years old. At the time I was playing an online video game called Runescape. One day I wrote a guide on how to make money in that game, sold it on eBay and made a couple hundred dollars. Ever since then I have been hooked to starting random online business ideas.

Then fast forward until I was a sophomore at Penn State University. At that point one of my random business ideas was importing men’s magnetic therapy bracelets from China and selling them on eBay.

During one rainy day in February I was bored and decided to create a course that taught people how to import products from China and sell them on eBay. I created that free course in one day and went to bed. When I woke up I had 50 new emails, each telling me that a new student had enrolled in my course. I couldn’t believe it, I was so excited and happy!

That first course I created ended up getting 10,000 students in it. Soon after creating that course I made my first paid course which went into greater detail about how to import products from China. I marketed it by telling everyone in my free course that if they wanted to learn more about this subject they could spend $20 and you get lifetime access to it.
Making $100+ Dollars from My First Paid Course Was an Incredible Feeling
I remember making the first couple hundred dollars off that course. It’s an incredible feeling. It feels completely different than working at a job and having someone pay you on a paycheck. In a weird kind of way, it really felt like I had earned this. And since that point I have been absolutely hooked.

I have created online courses in a bunch of different subjects such as copywriting, lean startup philosophy and how to become an authority. I can’t see myself stopping anytime soon. At this point I have over 40,000 students enrolled in my courses.
After two years of creating online courses my Mom called me and told me she really wants to create her own online course but doesn’t know how to get started. I realized there was 10 different places I could send her that would each teach her one thing that she has to know, but there wasn’t a single place where I could say, go here and you’ll learn how to create your own online course.

I knew that my Mom, not being the most tech savvy person in the world, wouldn’t want to spend all her time trying to figure out how to connect the pieces from these ten different websites and set up all the technical stuff. She just wanted to share what she knows, her expertise, and create an online course.

I know how intimidating it is. I had to figure all this technical stuff out in the beginning and it was really complicated. But the thing is, it doesn’t have to be. In hindsight I realized if someone had just shared with me the right things to do, I would have saved an incredible amount of time, money and frustration.

Going from No-Experience to Creating & Marketing Your First Course. This is why I’ve decided to take on that project. I’m creating a collection of courses with the goal of taking someone that has no-experience teaching online courses all the way to creating and marketing their first online course.

I’m going to walk you through every single step of the way. That includes how to outline your course, how to prepare the camera or the recording software and much more. This is by far the most ambitious project I’ve ever taken on but I think it’s going to be the most valuable project for you.

If you want to create an online course and share your expertise with the world, you shouldn’t have to focus on figuring out all the boring and complicated technical stuff.
